So.......It's Not About Getting Our Cash? |

|
This was the scene in St James's Square in Westminster on a Saturday afternoon in August. The square was virtually deserted but this unfortunate motorist who was late back to their car not only got a ticket but also got clamped. |

So here's the logic; the council are trying to send a message that you have outstayed your welcome (time paid for) and they don't want you to remain in this empty square occupying a space - where three quarters of the spaces are still available. So not only do you get a massive £50 fine which doubles to an outrageous £100 if you do not pay up in 14 days but they also disable your vehicle by rooting it to the spot with a wheel clamp! This adds another £65 to pay. Tell me this is not about generating a revenue? |
