Transport For London - Are They Serious?
The London borough of Wandsworth is one of a number of Boroughs that have been awarded new powers in order to issue fixed penalty fines by camera enforcement to drivers who don't observe yellow box junctions or no left or right turns.    In a TFL press release Jeroen Weimar, TfL’s Director of Transport Policing and Enforcement said:   “TfL welcomes the introduction of these new powers. They will enable us to work with the Boroughs and the police to keep London’s traffic moving. We will initially undertake a nine month pilot to develop these measures and ensure they work effectively to tackle dangerous and illegal driving at key locations."                TfL’s aim is to ease congestion and further improve road safety for all users."

Look at this bus stop in Garratt Lane near the junction of Kimber Road.  It has been built out into the road!   When the bus stops it blocks all the traffic!  There are more of these 'anti congestion' bus stops around the area.

If TFL cannot practice what it preaches, are these new powers just another revenue raising scam to clobber the motorist?

Maybe it's me, but I cannot see how building a bus stop out into the road is going to ease congestion, add to it more like. What about when motorists get frustrated and try to squeeze around the bus into oncoming traffic? Is that road safety?  What are TFL doing to get people off the road with no driving licence or motor insurance?
